In 1955, twenty six dedicated men chartered an organization to serve the citizens of the Macungie area.  This year 2008 marks the 53rd year the Macungie Ambulance Corps is providing services to the residents of Alburtis Borough, Lower Macungie Twp, Macungie Borough, and Upper Milford Township.

During the first year these men trained in first aid, setup sleeping teams, and provided service on 50 calls.  The ambulance, a 1948 Packard was originally turned over to the Borough of Macungie by the VFW Home Association and VFW Ladies Auxiliary on May 30, 1955.

Currently, Macungie Ambulance Corps responds to over 2,000 emergency calls annually, as well as providing stand by services at different community events.

On May 19th, 2006 Macungie Ambulance Corps began providing ALS (Advanced Life Support) to our coverage area.
